How to Get Rid of Acne

Acne can really negatively interfere with people lives. It is unique in its ability to devastate people without actually harming them. I believe many people will beg to differ on this point. Yes, it can harm a person mentally and emotionally but physically, it is relativity superficial. I too have had my fair share of hardship with acne and left untreated, I still would.

What is acne?

Acne is a skin condition characterized by a pimple on the skin. It occurs when a pore is blocked by oil, bacteria and dead skin cells. Acne can affect everybody but usually more predominant among adolescents.

Why do I get acne?

Acne can be caused by many different influencing factors. It can be hormonal, a diet based problem or a lifestyle choice. Sugars play a huge part in this. Refined sugar builds up in the gut causing yeast and candida which play a huge part in acne breakouts. It is not only sugar to blame but it is most certainly one of the main culprits. That includes fructose sugar from fruit.

My Acne Story

Everyone assumes the issue originates on the skin, giving this is where the symptoms are visible, so they think the problem needs to be tackled in the same location. The western world is used to treating symptoms rather than the actual cause. Be it a headache, back pain or a skin issue. We want fast, over-the-counter remedies to rid us of these horrible afflictions, not ever really addressing what the root cause is. With regards to my story, I paid for a monthly subscription for pro-active to keep my breakouts at bay. I am not going to lie, it suppressed the severity and frequency of my breakouts, but it was only tempory, not to mention expensive and as soon as I would stop, back came the pimples.

How To Get Rid Of Acne

Everyone’s case is different and acne affects them according to their conditions. Acne, like many diseases, start in the gut. If we are serious about getting rid of acne. You will have to make some dietary changes. Here I will explain foods that should be taking out of the diet.

  • Remove grains from the diet, most importantly gluten
  • Remove sugars which cause yeast and candida.
  • Change from bad hydrogenated oils such as vegetable oil or canola and start using coconut oil
  • Increase the amount of fiber you intake
  • Start eating healthy fats,
  • Quality proteins is a must

Following the dietary guidelines coupled with a natural face wash like a sea salt scrub or a tea tree oil based face wash can rid you of acne completely. A candida detox or gut detox will also help your fight against acne. You may think this is too much effort and it is to some degree. It really depends on how much you want to get rid of those pimples.

If you are lucky and acne is not that big of an issue but still would like clearer skin. Below are useful natural ways to keep them annoying pimples at bay. Remember these will not cure for the root but are very effective at surpression.

Cinnamon And Honey

Cinnamon and honey are natural in there antimicrobial properties. If you apply a mixture with a ratio of 1:2  as a mask or dabbed on the affected area and leave it overnight. You will soon see great results. It will feel a sticky and strange at first but you will get used to it. Make sure it is high quality, organic honey. Royal jelly also is extremely effective. It is the food sourse of the queen bee and only feeds to her. Leave the mixture on over night to see the best reults.

Green Tea

Green tea has an antioxidant known as epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). It was observed that EGCG reduced inflammation, sebum production and bacterial growth on the pimple-prone skin. Soak two organic green tea leaves in a slight cool down boiling water. After a couple of minutes drain the liquid and keep to onE side until the green tea leaf mixture cools down. Apply the mixture to a pimple before you go to bed with a clean swab or cotton ball.

Coconut and Baking Soda

Use a 1:1 ratio of coconut oil to baking soda. Mix these two ingredients and apply it to your skin gently. You can either leave the mixture as a mask on your face for a few minutes for a very deep skin cleansing treatment or wash it off with warm water almost immediately. The baking soda balances the PH of your skin while the coconut is highly anti-bacterial and provides a moisturizing glow.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is incredible by all means. The range of benefits it can give the body is nothing short of amazing. In this, I will only outline the amazing results people see using it as an acne treatment. When buying ACV, make sure to buy organic and don’t cheap out It really goes a long way so $10 for a bottle is actually a bargain. I have seen positive results with my skin by both ingesting and application onto my skin. When using it on bare skin, make sure you dilute the ACV with water. I suggest using an old toner bottle and mix a solution of ACV to water at a ratio of 1:4 and apply after you use a facewash. At first, it will smell potent but will subside.Leave on over night and wash off in the morning. Honestly this is extreamly effective and I could not recommend anything above this.
